There are causes that capture our collective attention and resources— high-profile issues that undoubtedly deserve our support, but, Stichting Lisrosa wants to shine a light on those causes that remain in the shadows – the neglected, the underfunded, and the overlooked. These are the causes that struggle to get attention and resources but are no less critical to the fabric of our society and the wellbeing of our planet.
Supporting neglected causes is not just a moral imperative; it is also a strategic one. By directing our attention and resources to these areas, we can:
Have more Impact
Resources in neglected areas can go further, achieving significant outcomes where there is little existing support.
Move the needle
Underserved fields often provide fertile ground for innovative solutions and breakthroughs that truly move the needle, whilst using careful reasoning and scientific evidence where available to ensure those solutions tackle problems at their core.
Try to be impartial
Addressing neglected causes where we try to have an impartiality mindset to ensure we do not exclude certain communities and issues.
This is what lies at the core of our foundation’s values which in turn drives how we work.
We recognise that change takes time, in fact some changes may not even take place in our lifetime, and that is okay. However, this requires an ability to be both patient and not be too risk averse. With no external stakeholders but the public good we are trying to further Stichting Lisrosa to be just that, and so it felt only natural to search for cause areas that might not be so salient to others.
Every act of giving can ignite a wave of positive change. Philanthropy is not just about donating money; it's about envisioning a better future and taking steps to make that vision a reality. It's about harnessing the power of our collective goodwill to address the most pressing challenges of our time.
